I don’t know why at a time like this, I’m unable to study. I had this great idea of a story which I would love to write, which clouds my minds with ideas for the story. Therefore, I decided to put my studies aside first as I finish this story asap. So here’s the story, and I hope that all my dedicated blog readers will spend some time reading this story. It may not be of your liking, but just put up with it for a while, OK?

It may be between 8-12 Parts long.

This story is directed to all the young online gaming generation.

Part 1

Slam!

The door swung open with a large slam against the wall. In walked Kevin, the only person standing before a class filled with students sitted down staring at him and the professor directing him an evil gaze. Kevin had been late for class. He quickly took his seat next to Jake, settled down and brought out his notes from his bag. He was late and he felt remorse about it.

Kevin was a tall, handsome young man. He had black, shining hair, sharp eyes and a seemingly muscular body that made the girls go wild. He had excelled in his studies, attended classes punctually and had taken part in several sport activities. He was the all-rounder, one which any girls would have gone for. Casually-dressed all the time, Kevin has always been the gossip of most girls in his college. He was well aware of it but he never let it affect his personality or studies.

The students were amazed with Kevin’s late arrival. Kevin, the studious freak had, for the first time in life, been late for class, for Socialism. That had never happened and had aroused the curiosity of everyone, including the professor. It was Kevin’s favourite subject, where essays regarding real experiences are written combined with ideas and ways of improvement. But since it had been Kevin’s first time arriving unusually late for class, the professor took no further action on Kevin, raised the marker pen in his right hand and continued his lessons.

Jake, Kevin’s closest friend asked for a reason for Kevin being late.

“Oh, I just downloaded this game last night and had spent a very long time registering and subscribing for an account. I slept late,” Kevin explained.

“A new game eh? What’s it called?” Jake wanted to know of his best friend’s latest interest.

Before he knew it, the white board duster flew their way, hitting the table and bounced off before landing on the floor. Jake and Kevin looked at the professor in fear. They were currently the centre of unwanted attention. The professor was furious for their voice had exceeded a certain limit and had annoyed the him.

“I will not tolerate any noise from you two despite you two being the best students in this class. Especially you, Kevin. You were late and have missed Effects on People. For being late and speaking during lessons, you’re getting detention!” The professor signaled Kevin, ending the day with a punishment.

Jake, the tall average looking boy with curly hair and a sharp nose directed his Aww-this-sucks look at Kevin. Jake had been Kevin’s best mate, partners for life ever since they met each other when they were four. They lived in the same neighborhood, played games together, did anything and almost everything together. In the present, they went to the same college abroad, advancing their education in the same course, Mass Communication.

Jake had always been a reliable and helpful friend. He had been there when Kevin lost his parents to a car crash when he was fifteen. Those were hard times and Jake had taken Kevin, the only child of the family into his. Kevin’s house was mortgaged and all of his parent’s fortunes were inherited by him. Yet Jake’s family took Kevin in willingly, showering him with love and care when he needed it most.

The bell rang, everyone packed and left the class. Some returning to their homes, others returning to their hostels for a rest. Kevin had not packed for he had detention and will have to spend the next hour accompanying the professor in the room. Jake shot a sorry look to Kevin and stood up with his bag filled with notes, his pencil case, cell phone and a bottle of water. He waved goodbye and mouthed ‘take care’ towards Kevin.

Sitting way back in the class, Kevin’s eyes scrolled around the classroom and landed on Alice. She had been the last to pack her things. Since an hour ago, Alice had fallen asleep and the professor hadn’t noticed. This had been her first time though. The other course-mates hadn’t said anything for in this class, everyone integrated as one. They often went out together, did things together and enjoyed together. There had been some sort of mutuality among all the students. They would always help and share with each other, but never expose or cheat on another.

Alice had been the hottest girl Kevin had ever laid eyes on. She had long, straight black hair, eyes that functions as a magnet attracting the attention of everyone around. She had the devil’s body, slim and proportional. However, she was a pretty, brand-conscious freak. Her clothings ranged from Nike to Adidas, handbags that of Gucci and shoes made from HushPuppies. She also has the liking to wear over-exposing clothes. Showing off her belly buttons and white thighs.

Despite everything that Alice had, Kevin did not make any move. He saw her as only a friend. Kevin had just broken up with his high school sweetheart. Together for two years, Ashley had broken up with him for another guy who was wealthy enough to purchase anything she wanted. Kevin had been heartbroken and swore not to get involved in this problematic thing called Love.

It had been an irony sitting alone studying in the classroom. Kevin had been glad by the end of the hour and returned to his dorm, excited and wary of his newly downloaded game. He threw his bag onto his bed, switched on his computer and started playing his new online game.
Apocalypse Online. It was Kevin’s first online role-playing-game.

Kevin created a new character and named it Sasquatch. In favour of his likings towards the hairy creature. He selected the attributes and outlooks of his character before entering the world called Spira. It was a whole new gaming experience for Kevin. A 3-Dimensional world with figurines all over.

Sasquatch walked along the green grass of the field. Level one, bearing a short knife and weak clothing, he attacked the monsters. Eventually he made it to level two in just ten minutes. Apparently, as he was new, he had no idea of what to do next. So, with the map on the computers top right screen, Sasquatch made his way to town. In the town called Aedys, hundreds of other players had gathered here. Each coming in and out of town, with different purposes. Eventually, Sasquatch managed to get someone to teach him the next step.

Sasquatch had to kill more monsters to achieve a higher level, obtaining more attribute stats which would increase his effiency in slaughtering monsters and picking up money called Zix. Only by obtaining this items will he be able to purchase a stronger weapon to increase his damage.

Kevin had spent the remaining of his day training his character until it hit level nine. It took him an hour, for he had to rest whenever Sasquatch had been injured to the last drop of hit points. To restore it back to normal, it would take some time. Kevin switched off the program and opened Google Chrome where he searched for guides and tips regarding Apocalypse Online.

Apparently, when one reaches level ten, he would be entitled to change his job to a profession with more skills and power. It had been late night by the time Kevin finished reading. He let the soft music play from his library of songs through Windows Media Player as he changed his outfit, covered himself under the comfort of a blanket and slept under the softness of his pillow.
